A data protection management system (DPMS) bundles all organizational, technical and documentary measures for implementing the GDPR. In contrast to the ISMS (information security management system) or QMS (quality management system), it focuses exclusively on personal data and its legally compliant, audit-proof handling within the company.
Although the GDPR does not currently prescribe a DPMS verbatim, it does require a systematic data protection concept (Art. 5, 24, 32) including complete verification. Those without a structured DPMS risk fines and reputational damage in an audit - especially with customers, authorities or OEMs.
DSMS solutions from MEMEX include roles, processes, directories, TOMs, templates, checking mechanisms and awareness measures. With MEMEX, however, you do not receive a loose collection of documents, but a consistently traceable and auditable system that is integrated into your existing organization right from the start.
There are many data protection templates circulating on the internet. However, these are rarely complete, often outdated and not tailored to your industry or internal processes. That's why we don't think much of ready-made, copy-paste construction kits.
